Located 3842m above sea level in Dolakha district, Kalinchowk is a rural municipality, home to amazing scenery, cozy resorts on snowy hills, and the famous Kalinchowk Bhagwati Shrine. It is just 150km from the capital, Kathmandu and offers people a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has become a destination for both adventure seekers as well as pilgrims. Right under the Kalinchowk hills, a small beautiful village name, Kuri is located to accommodate the tourists coming to the place. Getting There

There are various ways to go start the journey to Kalinchowk. Travellers can either reserve a private vehicle or can take a local bus. Taking a bus from Koteshwor or Buspark, that goes all the way to Charikot is one of the most common ways to start this journey. The ride takes around five to six hours. From Charikot, the off-road experience starts and is about 18km from the last destination of Kalinchowk, Kuri Village. Reserve a private jeep that takes up to Kuri Village or alternatively you can hike for five or six hours through the lush green forest trails. Recently, a new cable car line has been added to reach the top of the Kalinchowk from Kuri village. If walking or off-roading isn't your thing then this can be a good option. 

While the rest of the tourist places are closed in winter, Kalinchowk comes to life during the season of winter. The best time to visit Kalinchowk for the snow and snowfall is in the month of Mid November to January. However, the beautiful landscape of Kalinchowk is also beautiful in the Spring and Autumn season. The place will not let anyone down in terms of beauty.
