The neighboring city of Nepalgunj, Kohalpur is the second largest municipality in Banke district. The city is known for its diverse junction and as a hub for road transport. Located on the East-West highway of the country, it is the fastest developing city of the Western region.

Climate

Kohalpur has a subtropical climate and is hot and humid high from April to June. It is among the cities of Nepal with the highest temperature. The winter is very pleasant but can get foggy and overcast occasionally.

Getting there

Located 535 km west of Kathmandu the city is accessible both by air and road. There are direct flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and then local bus or taxi to reach the city. Regular buses from Kathmandu take about 14 to 18 hours to reach here.
