Fruits should be soaked and combined 20-30 days in advance to achieve Christmas cake's authentic taste and flavour
The Gokarna Forest Resort organised the traditional cake-mixing ceremony on Saturday in anticipation of the Christmas and new year seasons, accomplished with several litres of high spirits and kilograms of dry fruits. The short form of Gokarna Forest Resort (G.F.R) was displayed on the rectangular table’s decorations, which included dried fruits, nuts, and cherries.
The guests, chef, and staff all pitched in to make a hearty concoction of dried fruits, cashew, almond, cherries, walnuts, spices, honey, rum, wine, and local alcohol. Before the fruit-soaking event began, the aprons, gloves, and toque hats were distributed to the guests.
Then, the resort’s staff, guests, and chefs gathered to mix the ingredients. The process started with pouring the alcohol over the fruits and nuts on the table where the dried fruits, nuts, and cherries were decorated. Once they were thoroughly covered in the spirit, the mixture was turned and tossed once more.
It is generally accepted that fruits should be soaked and combined 20-30 days in advance to achieve Christmas cake's authentic taste and flavour.
The ceremony, which took place in the resort courtyard, was attended by representatives of prominent business organisations, celebrities, socialites, and the staff. Live fusion music performances from local bands, delectable cuisines, and a barbeque brunch with an exquisite live food station enhanced the event.
