Aloft Kathmandu Thamel supported around 45 children at Matri Nepal Bal Griha with school supplies and engagement activities to promote education and community care before the new academic session.

Kathmandu, 19 April 2026 — As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel conducted a meaningful outreach initiative at Matri Nepal Bal Griha, an orphanage in Kathmandu that provides care and support to children without parental guardianship. The initiative was organized ahead of the upcoming academic session, reaching out to approximately 45 children.

The CSR initiative was aimed at supporting the children’s academic preparedness and reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to education and community welfare. As part of the engagement, the hotel distributed essential stationery kits comprising notebooks, pens, pencils, and geometry boxes to ensure the students are equipped with basic learning resources for the new school term.

In addition to material assistance, the visit emphasized emotional engagement and community bonding. Hotel associates from Aloft Kathmandu Thamel spent time interacting with the children through informal activities and conversations, fostering encouragement and positivity. The day concluded with a small celebration featuring a cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of cookies and chocolates, creating a memorable experience for the children.

Speaking on the initiative, General Manager Vikram Singh of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel said, “At Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, we believe that investing in education is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to long-term community development. Our visit to Matri Nepal Bal Griha orphanage reflects our commitment to supporting vulnerable children, not only through essential resources, but also about spending time with the children, encouraging them, and reinforcing that they are supported by the wider community.”

The outreach reflects the hotel’s continued commitment to meaningful engagement with local community institutions. It also aligns with Marriott International’s Serve 360 framework, particularly the Nurture focus, which is centered on caring for communities and supporting their long-term well-being. Through this approach, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel reinforces its ongoing focus on education, child welfare, and purposeful community engagement.
