Situated on the banks of the Trishuli River, Malekhu is a small town located on the way from Kathmandu and Pokhara and Chitwan. It is a popular stop point for tourist buses and travellers to stop and enjoy some refreshments. The town is situated in Dhading district in State 3 of Nepal.

This scenic sleepy little town is one of the favorite junctions and transit point for travelers. Famous for different varieties of fish and other local delicacies in stalls along the highway the town has much more to it than just the fish. Malekhu is also known for fishing and watersports.

Getting there

Located at a distance of 48km from the capital Kathmandu,it lies on the main highway and route to Pokhara and Chitwan. Regular buses and taxis are available from Kathmandu to Malekhu.
