Mango City of Nepal
Located at the Terai belt of Nepal, Siraha is one of the oldest cities in the country. Sihara is the headquarter of the Siraha district. Siraha district covers an area of 1188 square kilometers and has a population of 637,328 according to the census of 2011. The district is bordered by Saptari in East, Dhanusha in West, Udayapur in North and India in South. Most of the parts of this district are covered by the plain land of Terai. It is the smallest district of Sagarmatha Zone.
The population of Siraha city is about 28,442. The majority of the population here is Yadav, Jha, Rajput, Tharus, Muslims and many people who speak Maithili and Nepali language. Explorers can enjoy the vast view of plain fertile land, rivers and enjoy the local fishes of the area while visiting Siraha.

Getting There
Siraha is connected by East-West Mahendra Highway to the rest of Nepal. Regular buses and micro-buses travel to the city from different parts of Nepal. Siraha is about 260km from Kathmandu and can take about 6 hours to reach. The best way to explore the city is by cycle rickshaws and electric rickshaws. They are found almost everywhere ready to take you to your desired location.
Siraha doesn't have an airfield. However, Rajbiraj Airport and Janakpur Airport are the two airports in close proximity to the city. It takes the same amount of time to reach Siraha from both places. However, Janakpur Airport has more flights from Kathmandu and other places in Nepal. Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines and Buddha Airlines have been providing their service and connecting the people of Siraha to the capital.
