Reconstruction and conservation work of religious and historical monasteries, Chautari ponds and other historical places within Municipality-7 has started.
At the same time, Ward Chairman Ramesh Shrestha informed that the hundred year old ponds within Municipality-7 have been excavated and reconstruction work has been started. Jyoti Lamichhane, Deputy Head of Beni Municipality, informed that the municipality has conducted a campaign to protect and maintain barapipal, chautari and ponds related to religious beliefs and environmental purity, including the restoration of the 334-year-old suspension bridge over the Myagdi River in Mangalaghat.
Ward Chairman Ramesh Shrestha said that the ward office has started the conservation work by allocating five lakh rupees in the current year for the preservation of the old pond under the Beni-Maharani road section. "Renovation work is going on around the pond, we will make infrastructure so that you can walk around the pond", said the ward chairman Shrestha. Water will be collected in the habitable structures and ponds with wire mesh protection.
Krishna Bahadur Baniyan, the ward chairman of municipality-6, has started a campaign to protect historical, natural and religious heritages within his ward. He informed that so far 20 old chautaris have been reconstructed, seven new chautaris have been constructed, water sources have been protected and ponds have been reconstructed._RSS
