Machindra Mela, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Festival 2079 will be held at the proposed stadium located in Kerabari Rural Municipality-8 of Morang from 13th to 19th of Poush. The organizing committee of Kerabari Business Management held a press conference to inform about the historical, religious and cultural identity of the Machhindra Mela.
Kerabari, located 46 km northeast of Biratnagar, is considered as the largest rural municipality in Morang based on area and geography.
More than 100 stalls will be kept in the fair and 50,000 spectators will watch. In addition, the press conference that it is expected that there will be a financial transaction of 5 million. The organizers have informed that various necessary preparations are being made for the festival.
The special attractions of the fair include an excellent children's garden with entertaining games, educational competitions between different schools, daily cultural programs with local and national artists, Machindra Mela Puja, various sports competitions, plays and literary entertainment.
Daily useful goods and services, herbal agricultural products and agricultural exhibition, small and household products and handicrafts, automobile and information technology, garments and footwear, fruit and flower exhibition, ethnic identity collection, tourism related photo art exhibition, fashion show and various talents. The organizers have said that the exhibition will continue.
The purpose of the festival is to spread the word and protect the tourist and religious areas here, and to expand the rural market and promote the disappearing arts and culture. The Kerabari Trade Management Committee, which was established in 2063, was registered as the ninth branch of the Morang Trade Association and being the youngest member, has been working on social and cultural programs in the market area here.
Along with Gharwas (homestay) in Kerabari, there are natural diversity of 16 districts of the east, Jephale where you can have a panoramic view of the sunrise, Topthumkidanda where you can forget the sheep, Saptagufa religiously and culturally, picturesque lake waterfall, Magar Museum, Shiva Parvati Cave, Vyudanda, Olive Park, etc. It has been mentioned that the festival is going to be organized for publicity.
In the fair, there will be performances by local artists including famous Nepalese singer and singer Rajesh Payal Rai, Pramod Kharel, Elina Chauhan, Lahure, Moon Prasain, Asmita Adhikari, Pravisha Adhikari and others. It is said that there will be a major cleanliness campaign and a municipal football tournament at the festival.
“The festival is going to be held with the main objective of supporting the development of agriculture and internal tourism by promoting the economically depressed trade business on the occasion of the construction of the Kerabari entrance (digital gate) as well as the historical cultural festival Machchindranath Mela,” said Kishan Shahi, the chairman of the organizing Kerabari Business Management Committee._Rss
