Are you looking for some excitement this New Year’s Day? Trips and parties are waiting for you. Here are a few budget-friendly places ideal to have new experiences of nature, culture or glitz and glam of hip and happening clubs. Have a blast, you all!  

1.      Boudhanath Stupa

A trip to Boudhanath Stupa, Nepal’s biggest stupa, would make your New Year celebration even more special. This world heritage site lies 2 kms to the north of Pashupatinath Temple. Boudha Stupa is regarded as Nepal’s cultural hub for Tibetans and so, here you can experience their culture. Foreigners and SAARC citizens must pay entrance fees of INR 156 and INR 31 respectively. The Tibetan community gathers to dance and have fun on the site’s edges during the New Year, breathing a new life into the stupa.

2.      Thamel

Thamel welcomes everyone looking to ring in the New Year in the most exciting and trendiest way. Thamel is a tourist hub. It is also renowned for having many pubs and clubs. So, it is one of the best ways to celebrate this New Year’s extravaganza. It has a vibrant nightlife. Head to any of the many Thamel pubs, which stays open all night, for a chance to experience the liveliest New Year’s celebrations in Kathmandu. If you’re not searching for a party atmosphere, you can get a great meal at one of its many shops that sell regional specialties and trinkets for tourists to bring home.

3.      Pokhara

Pokhara is a popular tourist destination in Nepal and has a lot to offer, giving visitors exciting options for adventure. You will want to extend your stay here for more days; such is its allure. As one of the top spots to visit during the New Year’s celebrations, visitors will discover a lively nightlife. People can see the partygoers ready to take advantage of these magnificent celebrations as the streets are decorated with lights, flowers, and more. The New Year is celebrated widely by singing songs well past midnight.

4.      Kathmandu Fun Park

One of the oldest amusement parks in Kathmandu, Kathmandu Fun Park is a popular amusement park situated in Bhrikuti Mandap. Spend the first day of the year immersed in entertainment and excitement at the Kathmandu Fun Park. It’s a location where you may indulge your inner child and relive your childhood. The Ferris Wheel, the Columbus Ride, the Horror House, the Target Hitting Games, and many more attractions are there to make your New Year’s Day even more special.

5.      Daman

You may see the stunning magnificence of the tallest peaks in the world, ranging from Mt. Everest to the far west up to Dhaulagiri. There is a lookout tower with a long-range telescope and is located 80 km south-west of Kathmandu on the mountain roadway known as the Tribhuvan Highway. You can eat and drink while taking in the majestic mountain scenery from a hilltop. Inhale the joy and be ready to ring in the new year with lots of fun.
