The Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple in Narainapur, Banke, is developing into a popular destination for pilgrims

Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple located at Narainapur in Banke is becoming a center of attraction for religious tourists. To reach the temple, which is about 30 km away from Nepalganj, one has to walk eight kilometers on a dirt road in the mountain forest.

Devotees reach the temple even though it is a difficult road. Since the temple is located in the middle of the forest in Takura, far away from the city, devotees come in groups from Nepalgunj to observe the natural beauty and walk there. The temple named Santaneshwor passing through Bedihwa, Jhandwa between Ward No. 5 and 6 of Narainapur is now in discussion.

A plan has been put forward to develop Bhuvar Bhawani in Rapti Sonari rural municipality, Bageshwari in Nepalgunj, and Santhaneshwor Mahadev temple in Narainapur as a religious circuit. Dhakal made a master plan for the promotion of internal and external tourism and promised that the work will be carried forward.

MP Dhakal assured to provide assistance in the construction of a road to easily reach Santhaneshwor Temple, which has tourist potential, and to arrange a budget for the construction of a homestay in Kohala. Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple can be reached by climbing the hilly road for about three hours from Kohla on the Nepalganj-Baghuda road under Hulaki road.

Devotees from India and neighboring districts come there not only from Banke to have a darshan of Mahadev. There is a religious belief that people who are childless will be blessed with children when they visit this place and if they wish for their children, all will be fulfilled.

“After walking eight kilometers up the hill to the north from Kohla in Narainapur Rural Municipality, which is 22 km away from Nepalganj, one can reach that place. The temple is crowded with devotees from various places in the district including Nepalgunj,” said Sohanlal Yadav, a local leader of Narainapur

“The number of religious tourists in the temple is increasing every year. The temple is especially crowded during Shivaratri and Teej. It is believed that after going to the temple and asking with a sincere heart, you will get a child. The rural municipality is planning to build solar lights, a water system, and a road to reach the temple,” said the chief administrative officer of Narainapur rural municipality, Mani Ram Kharal._Rss
