48-year-old lost Buddha statue discovered in National Museum Camp

The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, which disappeared from Banepa Municipality-8 in Kavrepalanchok in 2031, has been found in the National Museum camp.

The missing statue was made of Ashtadhatu. The missing Buddha statue from Bahitol will be replaced in the same place by the joint initiative of local residents and the municipality along with Bajagaza. Before replacing the statue, a program has been decided to take the statue from Nala Tin dobato through Telecom.

Only after the reconstruction of the temple with the activity of the archeology department, the statue is going to be replaced with full security and management.

The statue was lost because the condition and management of the temple were not effective before the statue was lost. The Department of Archeology has reconstructed the temple with an investment of Rs. 1 crore. In the coming days, CC cameras and strong structures will be arranged for the security of the statues and the temple.

“Although the Buddha statue stolen from the temple was reported to be in the National Museum camp in Kathmandu some time ago, preparations have been started to bring it.” Said Narendranath Shrestha, Chairman of Bhajan Khal._Rss
