Hyatt Place Kathmandu honours the Earth Hour by switching off its lights for an hour.

Hyatt Place Kathmandu went dark for one hour on March 25th to shine a light on climate action in support of Earth Hour 2023. The hotel joined millions around the world in turning off its lights at 8:30 pm local time to illuminate a powerful message about environmental awareness and action. Lights throughout the hotel were switched off or dimmed with all the public areas lit up with candles.

The hotel believes that even small actions can make a big difference and encourages everyone to participate in this global movement to protect the environment. All guests were encouraged to come to the lobby and participate in lighting candles with hotel colleagues before the lights were dimmed. A small reception was organized with a grazing menu featuring organic and local ingredients.

"We are passionate about delivering innovative guest experiences to all our guests and this is a great opportunity to redefine hospitality in a more sustainable way. We at Hyatt strongly support our 2030 Environmental Goals and believe that a healthy environment is important for all people to do their best. We are committed to advancing environmental action so that destinations around the world are vibrant for our guests, colleagues and communities." said Mr. Varun Talwar, General Manager of Hyatt Place Kathmandu.
