Senior Climbing Guide Pasang Namgel Sherpa successfully reached the summit of Broad Peak

On morning, July 27, 2024, Senior Climbing Guide Pasang Namgel Sherpa successfully reached the summit of Broad Peak. Imagine Nepal Trekking Company confirms that Pasang has now conquered all 14 of the world's highest peaks. Broad Peak, the 12th tallest mountain globally, stands at an impressive 8,051 meters above sea level.

Notably, Pasang has climbed some of the 8,000-meter peaks multiple times. Here is the list of the 14 peaks he has successfully ascended in recent years:

  • K2 (8,611m) in 2022
  • Kanchenjunga (8,586m) in 2022
  • Lhotse (8,516m) in 2023
  • Makalu (8,463m) in 2022
  • Cho Oyu (8,201m) in 2008

  • Manaslu (8,163m) in 2019
  • Nanga Parbat (8,125m) in 2017
  • Annapurna-I (8,091m) in 2021

Pasang Namgel, also known as the “Himalayan Tiger,” is a legendary Nepalese climber who often climbed with veteran Korean climbers. He earned his nickname from the Koreans due to his bravery and ferocity in the mountains. Pasang holds the distinction of being the sole Nepalese climber to have conquered Lhotse Shar, an 8,400-meter peak in the formidable Lhotse range. Additionally, he is the only Nepalese climber to have summited Yalung Khang (8,505m), a peak in the Kanchenjunga Himal range. Pasang's unwavering determination and unparalleled expertise have enabled him to triumph over all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks, showcasing his exceptional mountaineering prowess.
