Khakhadehra festival is celebrated on the last day of the Holi festival. In the Rana Tharu community, it is customary to celebrate Holi for 38 days as living Holi, dead Holi, and Khakdehra. During the festival of Holi, the stories of Lord Krishna and Rama are sung in songs. Living Holi is celebrated from Magha Purnima to Fagu Purnima by men and women, dancing to the beat of drums and singing songs at night.

Holi, which is played from the day of Tika to the eighth day of Khakhadehra, is called 'Mareko Holi'. Especially this Holi is played both during the day and at night. Fagu Purnima or the last day of Holi or the eighth day after Fagu Purnima is celebrated as the Khakhadehra festival. The festival of Khakhadehra, especially Holi, is being returned to Mathura for next year.

On the day of Khakhadehra, it is customary to collect Gagri, Tile, Khapta, dried dung, and water outside the village. The collected material is broken by the village leader. It is believed that by breaking the materials like this, diseases and demonic tendencies will disappear. This custom has been going on in the Rana Tharu community since ancient times._RSS
