With just three days left until Vishwakarma Puja, artisans have been summoned to craft intricate idols of Vishwakarma, the revered deity of machinery and craftsmanship. Sculptor Vinod Yadav revealed that the invitation to create these idols has spurred a notable uptick in their popularity. Vishwakarma Puja holds special significance for vehicle owners and factory operators, leading to heightened festivities in both rural and urban areas across the district, including Inaruwa.
Renowned sculptor Rama Lakhan Mandal from Inaruwa-8 shared that local artisans have been hard at work, fashioning thousands of Vishwakarma idols to cater to the rising demand. Sculptor Manoj Mehta added that these artistic clay sculptures are being sold for prices ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
Inaruwa-8's Rama Lakhan Mandal alone has crafted an impressive 50 Vishwakarma idols, with most of them already finding eager buyers. Interestingly, in Sunsari, Vishwakarma idols are fetching prices as high as Rs 10,000, a testament to the soaring demand for these sacred creations.
This surge in demand has translated into substantial annual earnings for sculptors, with some raking in between 2 lakh and 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees. Stakeholders are now advocating for measures to safeguard this craft and ensure reasonable prices for these exquisite statues. They suggest that the government should offer periodic training to sculptors and provide encouragement to nurture this vital tradition._Rss
