With the aim of promoting the tourism business through cycling, a cycling trip will be conducted from Nepalgunj to Thakurdwara in Bardia. In this campaign organised by Nepalgunj Cycling Club, around 300 cyclists will reach Bardia National Park through Thakur Road.
According to the club President, Satish Niraula, “'Tour De Thakurdwara' and 'Nepalgunj Kids Race' have also been organised as part of the Nepalgunj Cycle Festival to be held on Magh 26, 27 and 28.”
The journey will start from Bageshwari temple on 26th of Magh and we will reach Tribhuvanchok, Ganeshmanchok, wetlands in Khajura, Om Kedareshwar temple and Satkhaluwa lake in Bansgadhi through Thakurdwara.
Stating that they have coordinated the route and everything necessary for the cycling, President Niraula mentioned that interprovincial cyclists and international cyclists will also participate in the 'Tour De Thakurdwara'.
The main objective is to work on connecting cycling with our culture and tourism. This program will also help to push for safe cycling in the region and expansion of cycle lanes in the city.
About 300 international cyclists and national cyclists from cities like Bareilly, Odisha, Lucknow, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Punjab, Nainital, Delhi and Kashmir will also be given a 'city safari' in the “Tour De Thakurdwara'' cycling tour.
President Niraula said, "On 27th and 28th, we will sightsee Bardia National Park, jungle safari, elephant safari. We have a plan to reach Karnali Chisapani by taking a safari and viewing Nepal's longest Geruwa Karnali Bridge.”
Program coordinator Pradeep Sapkota said that the purpose of 'Tour De Thakurdwara' is to preserve tourism and culture in an environment-friendly manner. He also added, “Nepalgunj Cycling Club is conducting this program with the aim of promoting this area and helping the development of eco-tourism", he said, "The plan is to make cyclists visit local tourist destinations, taste local dishes and interact with local culture."_RSS
