Today marks the beginning of the annual Sriswasthani Bartakatha and Madhavnarayan worship, which starts on the day of Poush, Shukla Purnima

The Sriswasthani Bartakatha and worship of Madhavnarayan, which begins on the day of Poush, Shukla Purnima every year, has started from today.

Every year from Poush Shukla Purnima to Magh Shukla Purnima, Swasthani stories are told and heard every day for a month. It is a religious belief that if one observes the fast of Swasthani Parameshwari and listens to her story, one's wishes will be fulfilled.

Considering the fact that lakhs of devotees visited the Madhavnarayan Swasthani barta Mela last year, the committee is expecting the same proportion of devotees to come this year as well. The organizers have informed that the preparations for the peace management of the fair have been completed.

People who worship and bathe in the Shalinadi at Sankhu, an ancient city northeast of the capital, Shankarapur Municipality, visit daily for a month. Pilgrims coming from the capital and various districts fast on Manishail bank after worshiping the holy women and men. It is mentioned in the fasting story that Parvati got Mahadev as her husband due to the effect of Sri Swasthani Parameshwari's fast and with Mahadev's permission to save the suffering in the world, she went to preach about Swasthani in the abyss, Patal and Matryalok.

The story itself, on top of that, being a subject related to the pastimes of the gods and goddesses, Swasthani's story enchants everyone who listens and tells it. It is popular in Nepali society as the story of Parvati, the daughter of the Himalayas in the Satya Yuga, fulfilling her wish for health by fasting according to Vishnu's advice to find Lord Mahadev.

Throughout this period, devotees flock to those places with the religious belief that they will get salvation even if they worship at the places where the limbs of Pashupati, Gaurighat, Ganesh Mandir, Shalinadi and Sati Devi have fallen.

In the twelfth chapter of this Sriswasthani bartakatha, which has thirty-one chapters, the glory of Sriswasthani is described and it is shown through characters like Parvati, Goma and Navaraj that if you recite and listen to the story of Sriswasthani with devotion, the sufferings and diseases will disappear and the mind will be enlightened.

In the capital, the temple of Sri Swasthani Parameshwari is also located inside Tarinibahal in Makhantol. It is mentioned in Murtipada that the statue with Shiva was established in Nepal Samvat 794 during the reign of King Pratap Malla.

It is believed that if every woman who observes fast takes a bath and worships Sri Swasthani at noon and eats one meal a day, she will get merit and fulfill her wishes.

It is also tried to give moral education to the society through characters like Dakshaprajapati and Chandravati, that no one should be proud or disrespectful in health. The fact that truth always wins and falsehood is defeated in Vratkatha is also tried to be illustrated by the defeat of demons like Madhu-Kaitva, Tarakasura, Jalandhar and Tripurasura.

Devotees from different districts flock to Shalinadi, where there is a tradition of fasting and worshiping Sri Swasthani since tradition. Swasthani Vrat, which lasts for a month, is considered a special festival.

During the period of the mela, there is no custom of performing any religious rituals, weddings, fasts, etc., in any house of Sankhu, except for Swasthani and Madhavnarayan. This is the original identity here from before.

According to the original organizing committee of the fair, keeping in mind the convenience and peace and security of the devotees, CC cameras have been installed in the area around the fair and various sub-committees have been formed to organize the fair.

“Madhavnarayan Swasthani Vrat and Salinadi Improvement Committee have completed all preparations for the Shalinadi Mela, which will last for 1 month from Poush 22, including transportation, safety and health,” said Balkrishna Shrestha, chairman of the original organizing committee.

“Sankhu Metropolitan Police Division has also established a police 'help desk' for security and proper management of traffic,” said Police Inspector Janak Puri.

“The temple of Madhavnarayan located in Salinadi is open only for one month from Paush Shukla Purnima to Magh Shukla Purnima. In the Kedar section of Skandapuran, it is mentioned that the water becomes pure and clean during the Magha Mela, which takes place after the Sun enters Capricorn,” said Local Pawan Shrestha._Rss
