Nepal's Film Development Board is organizing a short film competition in which interested Nepalese filmmakers are required to submit a short film made in Nepal and made no more than three years prior to this competition. Prizes with significant amount will be distributed to the winners.

The Film Development Board is going to organize a short film competition. It has been informed that there will be a competition of short films made with the purpose of fundamental, social transformation and awakening, awareness, gender violence, caste discrimination, mistreatment, national pride, and protection and promotion of art and culture.

"The competition has been organized with the aim of providing incentives and proper opportunities to the makers of short films. The Board is always with us to make it simple and easy for filmmakers", said Board President Bhuvan KC.

In order to participate in the competition, the application form approved by the board must be submitted by the 10th of May 2080 through the office of the board or by email. The three best films in the competition will receive Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand for the first film, Rs 1 lakh for the second and Rs 75 thousand for the third. The awarded films will be participated in national and international film festivals, special exhibitions organized by the board in a commercial and non-commercial manner.

At least 50% of the films participating in the competition must be shot in Nepal and the filmmakers must be Nepalese. In addition, only films produced within the last three years from the date of publication of the notification will be eligible to participate and those films must have obtained a production license from the Film Development Board._RSS
