Pokhara International Airport, the country’s thirds largest International airport, will begin night flights today

The country's third largest international airport, Pokhara Regional International Airport, will start night flights from today.

With the implementation of the IFR system, now it is possible to operate the aircraft taking off and landing at Pokhara International Airport even when there is fog. Earlier, the airport itself was sometimes blocked due to fog and fog. From today, the night service will also start.

It is said that the airport will operate from 6 am to 12 pm from today, i.e. 18 hours a day.

“With the implementation of the IFR system at Pokhara International Airport, night flights are going to start from today,” said E Pradeep Adhikari, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)

The airport was operational from the 17th of Poush last year. According to the Authority, since the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) system has been installed at the airport to allow aircraft to take off and land with the help of instruments, night flights will be instructed to take off and land.

Earlier, the old airport was operated on the basis of the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) system. In that system, the ATC and the pilot were flying and landing by eye. After Pokhara International Airport will provide night service, it is said that Buddha Air, a private sector air service provider company, has prepared night flights.

“Earlier, flights were being operated at the airport only from 6 am to 4 pm,” said Jagannath Niraula, spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)

“Preparations are being made for Pokhara-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Pokhara night flights. Buddha Air has prepared a Pokhara-Kathmandu night flight from Falgun 25th,” said Buddha Air spokesperson Dipendra Karna._Rss
