The Nepal Triathlon Association, which is a sports association in the National Sports Council, has expanded the association at the provincial level. Dilliraj Subedi, secretary Viren Sherchan, joint secretary Anita Ranabhat and Dim Bahadur (Devendra) KC have been elected as the vice president of the Nepal Triathlon Association Gandaki Province Committee formed under the chairmanship of Samun Devkota, the former president of District Sports Development Committee Kaski.
Likewise, Krishna Dawadi, Pramish Tamrakar, Dhananjay Wagle, Savina Maharjan and Ujwal Sharma have been members of the committee. Devkota, the chairman of the newly formed committee, pledged to develop, expand and produce technical manpower for the triathlon sport in Gandaki.
Nepal Triathlon Association has been organizing annual Asia Triathlon Cup and South Asian Triathlon Championship in Pokhara. The third edition of both these competitions was completed here on 18th and 19th of Chait. The Triathlon Asia Cup, which started in 2019, could not be held in 2020 and 2021 due to the global spread of the Covid pandemic. It has been continued since 2022.
The competition has helped in promoting Pokhara's internal and external tourism. As the participation of foreign players in the competition increases every year, sportsmen say that it has helped in sports tourism._RSS
