The arrival of tourists has increased as the cold has started to decrease in Mustang. The arrival of tourists has increased after the third week of Falgun in the district which has been deserted for more than two months due to the cold.

Some of the tourists who have decided to travel by Mustang reach Muktinath, while others reach the Korla border crossing between Nepal and China and return. Mustang, rich in geographical diversity, is an attractive destination for religious tourism as well as trekking tourism. The geographical diversity here has attracted everyone.

In recent times, with the increase in infrastructure construction aimed at tourists, it has become the choice of domestic and foreign tourists. Until four decades ago, travelers going to Muktinath Temple were forced to stay in Patipauwas there due to a lack of hotels. Now, from Leyte on Mustang, through Muktinath to Lomanthang, hotels with facilities have been built.

The convenience-rich hotel has put an end to the compulsion to stay in Pauwa, Thanti, and Bhandigoth when coming to Mustang. In recent times, the locals have also started Gharbas in villages like Thini and Syang in Mustang.

The number of tourists is gradually increasing in Lhomanthang in Upper Mustang. Lomanthang in Upper Mustang is also considered the city of Mata. There is also a palace of Mustangi Raj in Lomanthang, which has 180 houses within the same wall.

Domestic and foreign tourists also come to see the caves and monasteries in Upper Mustang. Stating that the historical cave in Zhong attracts everyone who comes here, the cave with five floors and one hundred and eight rooms is an important destination of Upper Mustang.

Tourism has also been affected in the past two years due to the Corona crisis. In order to return the Corona-affected tourism to its previous state, along with the local municipality, tourism-related organizations have also initiated the program. The Tourism Business Women's Association of Nepal (Tewan) recently completed a promotional program in Mustang.

During the promotional visit, training was also provided to young and female businessmen here on digital marketing, branding of local products, etc. Krishnaprasad Subedi, the priest of the temple, informed us that the number of visitors to the Muktinath temple is increasing as the cold weather subsides. Stating that along with indigenous pilgrims, Indian pilgrims have also started coming to Muktinath, and the number will increase in the coming days.

“In recent times, there has been an increase in local activity to process the local products here and take them to the market. The arrival of tourists will increase with the decrease of cold, and the business of local products will also increase,” said Shyamu Thakali, president of the Kuchchap Toranga Women's Small Enterprise Group._Rss
