Last month, I decided to take a trip to Chandragiri Hills. Located just a short drive from Kathmandu, this hill offers stunning views and a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle.
I started my journey early in the morning to avoid the traffic. The weather was perfect – sunny with a gentle breeze. As I drove up the winding roads, the cityscape slowly gave way to lush greenery and peaceful surroundings. The drive itself was quite enjoyable, with beautiful landscapes and occasional glimpses of local life in the small villages along the way.
When I reached the base station of Chandragiri Hills, I saw the cable car station. The cable car ride was one of the highlights of my trip. As I Moved forward, the panoramic views from the cable car became more and more breathtaking. The valley below looked like a green carpet, and the distant mountains stood tall and majestic. The ride was smooth and comfortable, allowing me to soak in the beauty around me.
At the top of the hill, the first thing I noticed was the cool and fresh air. It was a welcome change from the pollution and noise of the city. The main attraction on Chandragiri Hills is the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a calm atmosphere, and the views from there are simply stunning. I spent some time exploring the temple.
There are several viewpoints on Chandragiri Hills, each offering a unique perspective of the landscape. I visited a few of them, capturing the beauty with my camera. The sight of the Himalayan range in the distance was mesmerizing. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Everest, though it was slightly cloudy during my visit.
After exploring the viewpoints, I headed to the nearby restaurants for a meal. The food was delicious and the setting was perfect – sitting outside with a view of the hills and the valley below. I enjoyed a traditional Nepali meal, which added to the overall experience of the trip.
Chandragiri Hills also has a children's playground and a small amusement park, making it a great destination for families. I saw many families enjoying their time together, the children playing and the adults relaxing and taking photos.
As the sun began to set, I made my way back to the cable car station. The ride down was as enjoyable as the ride up, with the setting sun casting a golden glow over the landscape. I reached the base station feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The trip to Chandragiri Hills was a wonderful escape from the busy life of Kathmandu. The natural beauty, the peaceful environment, and the stunning views made it a perfect day trip. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, an adventure, or a family outing, Chandragiri Hills has something to offer for everyone. I left with beautiful memories and a desire to return soon.
