Rafting has been conducted for water tourism on the Kaligandaki River that flows through Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi. In order to highlight the potential of water tourism and help in tourism promotion, rafting has been conducted from Beni Municipality-9, Galeshwardham to reach Mirmi through Maldhunga-New Bridge, the headquarters of Beni through Dobhan.
On the initiative of Gum Pun, the owner of Gandaki Hotel in Kalipool, Spalas Nepal Adventure has formally conducted regular rafting since Tuesday.
With the introduction of rafting in the Kaligandaki River, it has attracted tourists, who have visited various tourist spots in the district and have come to visit Mustang, the Himalayan district via Beni.
The arrival of tourists will increase as the water journey of Kaligandaki River, which is considered the best for rafting, as well as the observation of the hilly geography and settlements in the coastal area will be more exciting.
Due to the good potential in the Kaligandaki River, it is planned to continue the operation of the cruise till the month of Jestha. The possibility of regular rafting operations is increasing because the journey from Galeshwar to Beni is less risky and more exciting.
A water trip was conducted in Kaligandaki River to highlight the possibility of water tourism starting from Galeshwar and passing through Maldhunga of the mountain to the new bridge. A fee of Rs 1,200 has been fixed for the water journey of about three kilometers from Galeshwar to Beni Khulamanch. Lunch arrangements have also been arranged for the passengers.
Now, for the time being, two eight-passenger capacity boats have been put into operation. Although priority has been given to Galeshwar-Beni, according to the wishes of travellers and tourists, it is said that water journeys can also be conducted from Maldhunga to Mirmi via Naya Bridge. Mirmi can be reached in three days' journey from Beni. In the 7th Myagdi Mahotsav organized by the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will be held from the 28th of January this year, water tourism has also been promoted as an attraction.
“The water journey from Galeshwar to Beni on the first day was successful. We have started rafting on a regular basis during the winter, we expect the Myagdi festival to be held in Beni in the near future to further promote it, at least from Galeshwar to Beni.
