With the aim of promoting internal tourism, Suryavinayak Municipality-7 has organized a Padyatra.
CPN-UML Politburo member and former minister Mahesh Basnet inaugurated the padayatra program organized by National Youth Union Tourism Department which started at 9 am today. The hill in the municipal area is a 'view tower' and said that from here, one can see Kathmandu valley as well as various snow ranges.
Discussing the historical and religious significance of Anantakunda, there is a legend that King Anshu Burma cured his queen by taking water from here and sprinkling it when she was sick. When Pratap Malla built the Rani Pokhari, there is a history of taking water from this well.
While traveling on this trail, you can observe wild animals and birds such as deer, wild boars, rabbits, and wild animals, and after reaching a height of 1,800 meters, you can see 17 mountains and all three cities in the valley.
According to the organizers, the first stage of the padayatra, which started from Ratopati, will reach Anantakunda, Anantalingeshwar, Mahadev Khola, Kailash Bhuta Tower, homestay and reach Risaldanda. From Suryabinayak one can go to Hyampedanda, Ranikot, Bagh Bhairab, Manebhanjyang, Panauti Kushadevi, and from Suryabinayak to Pokhari Thumka via Risaldanda.
As per Kiran Poudel, the central president of the Youth Association of Nepal, Chandra Rizal, the vice president of Nepal Tourism Board, and others, domestic tourists can be increased by identifying tourist destinations here.
"Earlier, when I was a member of parliament, I allocated a budget for the construction of footpaths in this area. This area is also important from the point of view of religious tourism. One can observe wild animals and birds while going on a jungle safari in this area,” said Mahesh Basnet.
“The three levels of the government have invested in the development of tourism here in the past and now it is his responsibility to bring more budget for the tourism infrastructure and development of this region.” Said Kiran Thapa, a member of Bagmati province in the opening program of the padayatra._Rss
