The 28th Annual General Meeting of Oriental Hotels Limited was held today, Ashwin 31, 2082 (October 17, 2025), Friday, at the Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Subhadra Shrestha.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors’ report for the fiscal year 2081/82, including the company’s annual financial report, auditor’s report, and balance sheet as of the end of fiscal year 2081/82, along with profit and loss statements, cash flow, and financial report, was approved.
In the fiscal year 2081/82, the hotel’s total income stood at NPR 108.86 crore, of which room revenue accounted for NPR 33.36 crore, food and beverage revenue NPR 39.27 crore, airport lounge revenue NPR 27.17 crore, and other income was NPR 9.04 crore. The total operational cost was NPR 94.51 crore, with an operational profit of NPR 14.35 crore, and after deducting total expenditure, the net profit was NPR 4.38 crore.
As more new five-star and other star-rated hotels have been built, mainly concentrated in Kathmandu, the number of tourists has not increased significantly compared to 2019. As a result, the expected profit could not be achieved. However, a newly built serviced apartment has begun full operations this year, and profits are expected to increase in the coming days.
The Board of Directors has proposed a final paid-up capital of NPR 1,18,44,94,960. Shareholders will receive a share right at the rate of 0.2663 per share, amounting to a total of NPR 31,55,05,040. The accumulated amount from the rights issue will be used to renovate the floors of the old building. Renovation work on the third, fourth, and fifth floors has already begun to make the facilities more modern and advanced.
Oriental Hotels Limited continues to enhance its reputation nationally and internationally. The company has been awarded the National Best Presented Annual Report Award 2024 – Bronze Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) for outstanding financial disclosure and reporting practices.
