Tourists are increasingly arriving to visit the Fort’s structure, which was constructed when Nepal was divided into Baise-Chaubise Rajya.

The historic Old Kot Fort has started to become the main tourist destination. Here, with the joint investment of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation of the Government of Nepal and the Bensi Sahar Municipality, the Shanti Stupa and the View Tower have been built in Old Kot Gadhi located in Ward No. 4.

At present, the arrival of tourists is increasing to see the structure built in the fort, which was built during the time of the Kings Baise-Chaubise of Nepal, and to observe the surrounding natural scenery from that area.

The palace of Kalu Shah's queen around the same stupa and view tower has been established as Old Kot Fort since the time of Yasobahm Shah. At this time, the arrival of tourists has increased in that place. More than 100 tourists come daily and more than 200 tourists on holidays and festivals. At present, the stupa and the view tower are the main attractions for tourists.

According to local resident Gurung, from the view tower, you can see Thankotdanda in Kathmandu, Danda over Muglin in Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun, Kaski, Myagdi, and other parts of the district. Similarly, Buddha Himal, Machhapuchche, Annapurna from the second to the fourth, Manaslu, Himalchuli, Annapurna South, Manaslu South, Chye Himal, Dr. Harkpik and dozens of snow ranges as well as the enchanting view of the sunrise can be observed from there.

Near the newly built structure, there is also the Maula Kalika temple which the king of that time worshiped. Old Kot fort is currently in ruins.

The construction of the said structure will help in the promotion of tourism as well as help in the economic growth of the municipality. Although the construction company, Him Parajuli Construction, had an agreement to build within the month of February 2078, it was not able to complete the work within the stipulated time.

Water and electricity are yet to be arranged and other works have been completed for the construction of that structure. According to the municipality, the view tower with the Shanti Stupa has been constructed. In addition to building and painting the stupa of Shanti Stupa, four Buddhist idols will also be placed.

It is said that the area of the structure is 283 square meters. The municipality has also constructed a road by spending Rs 21 lakh to reach the stupa and view tower.

You can reach the place from Bensisahar market through Lamjung Darbar, Pani Gharwas in the village. View Tower is located at a distance of 16 km from Benisahar.

Laliguras, which have started blooming in the forest surrounding the stupa, have enhanced the beauty of the stupa and the view tower. Among the tourists who came to the stupa, Belu Gurung said, "I felt very happy when I came here. It is a very happy place, and such structures will make tourists happy. Tourists who come here have fun taking selfies, taking pictures, and making TikTok."

“The importance of this place has increased as it is the residence of Shah Raja and a stupa and view tower have been built to promote and attract tourists,” said City Chief, Gumansingh Aryal._Rss
