Number of patients recovering on the increase

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number of people recovered from COVID 19 has spiked in the last three days.

The rate of COVID-19 patients discharged from isolation facilities has also risen with the increasing rate of recovery. In the last 24 hours, 2,287 persons have recovered and returned home.

Among the total infected across the country, 68.5 percent have been discharged.

On Monday, 979 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country. On the same day 1,736 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals upon full recovery. Likewise, on Sunday, 1,814 COVID-19 persons were discharged and sent home.

A total of 32, 964 persons contracting the virus have returned home so far while the number of actively infected ones stand at 14, 868. They are receiving treatment from 6, 815 home-isolation and 8,053 institutional facilities.

Similarly, 396 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours. Among them, 300 were from Kathmandu district, 58 from Bhaktapur district and 38 from Lalitpur.

In the last 24 hours, six deaths were recorded, taking the causality toll to 306 in the country since the first COVID-19 case was recorded in the country on January 23 this year.
