The completion of the Midimkhola motor bridge has changed the daily lives of the local residents.

With the help of the Gandaki provincial government, the Midimkhola bridge connecting Ghamrang and Ward 2 Maling, Khwalasother Rural Municipality-8 of the district was completed a few days ago, and the commuting time of the locals has been reduced, and now the daily life has also changed. Even though it takes hours to travel from other places due to the absence of the bridge, the daily life of the local residents has become easier as the time has been shortened by about three to four hours.

“Although the river divides the municipality into two parts, it is connected by the Midim Khola bridge. Especially the people of Pasgaon, Singdi have made it easy to reach the center and the district headquarters. Along with this, the people of Ward No. 2 Maling and Ward No. 4 will be able to go directly to Pokhara.” Said Surya Prasad Gurung, Village chairman.

“If you go from Benisahar, you don't have to take the difficult route to Udaipur. The short route through Taksar Rambazar has also made it easier to go to Pokhara. Similarly, when people are sick, this bridge is established as a backbone to bring the products produced by the local people to the market,” said village chairman Gurung.

“The construction of the bridge made the traffic easier and the local residents were happy.” Said Sul Bahadur Wik, a local resident.

“The construction of the bridge was completed by the Provincial Government through the Infrastructure Development Office at the cost of Rs. 7 crores, 10 lakhs, and 20 thousand. The 70-meter-long and 6-meter-wide bridge has been completed with the completion of all the works including lifting the pillars on both sides, laying the wire mesh, and the slope work of the superstructure, and the vehicles have started running since a few days ago.” said Suman Giri, Head of Infrastructure Office Lamjung._Rss
