Lakshminarayan Dharamshala, which was abandoned for some time due to a delay in its renovation, is now gaining popularity. More than 200 domestic tourists visit here every day. Everyone has been drawn to the old-style reconstruction of the crumbling Dharamshala, which was previously in a dreadful frame.
Lakshmi Narayan Dharamshala in Khoptar, located in Rampur Municipality 4, has been recently rebuilt traditionally in an artistic style and is currently popular on social media, including Tik Tok and Facebook. The original Dharamshala had a thatched roof and three stories with six rooms one on each side.
Dharamshala, which has religious and cultural importance, was damaged in the earthquake of 2072 and has been rebuilt in the old style to preserve its historic significance. It was being operated as a Dharamshala (Guthi) under the ownership of the Lakshminarayan Guthi Management Organization. On the special initiative of the Department of Archaeology, it has been reconstructed at a cost of around 3 crores, 6 lakhs, and 53 thousand rupees.
Shri Dharma S. Nirman Sewa Pvt. Ltd. signed the contract on June 16, 2078, and started the construction work in August. The construction company, aiming to complete the construction in June 2080, has completed the work ahead of schedule. Budhiprakash Regmi, Chairman of the Laxminarayan Guthi Operations Committee, says that after the construction of the structure has been completed, there is a daily crowd of people coming to observe.
He says, "The structure has been prepared to be established as a museum. We have some of the old materials that were used in the village houses, while we are preparing to collect and store the remaining materials."
