There is a religious belief that one's wishes will be fulfilled if one reaches the main place of the old historic Madarbaba and performs puja

Madarbaba Mela, located on the border hill of Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta West) and Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East), has recently been developing as a center of joint faith of Hindu and Muslim communities.

Madarbaba Mela, which used to be the center of faith only for the Muslim community, has recently become equally important for the Hindu community. There is a religious belief that one's wishes will be fulfilled if one reaches the main place of the old historic madarbaba and performs the puja.

Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta West) through Mahlbari Bazar located in Susta Rural Municipality-2 to reach the main shrine (main place of worship) of Madarbaba, one has to walk about nine kilometers uphill. The main site of Madarbaba, the road leading to the fair, and some structures are all in Susta Rural Municipality-2 under Lumbini Province, but the main darshan of Madarbaba is in the foothills of the mountain and in Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality-6 under Gandaki Province.

According to the Qutbul Madar Bagah Dargah Committee, it is estimated that around ten lakh devotees will come to fill the fair this year. Hindus from India and Nepal have also been worshiping at the Madarbaba Mela for years. Therefore, it is considered the center of the common faith of Hindus and Muslims.

Madarbaba Mela has been going on continuously for the past four decades. According to the Madarbaba Mela Management Committee, the fair that started on Magh 27 will continue until the second week of February. There are mosques in Mahalbari, Guddarbaba site, Chawldhoi site, and Madarbaba main site on the high hill. A fair is held at Madar Sthal once a year. Especially for those who do not have children, there is a popular belief that if they reach Madarasthal, they will get it._Rss
