Low visibility brought on by dense fog has interfered with domestic flight operations.

Domestic flights have been affected due to low visibility due to the thick fog in Terai-Madhes.

According to the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), flights were affected due to insufficient visibility at the airports except for Bhadrapur, Pokhara, Dhangadi, Surkhet, and Lumlingtar.

There are around 300 domestic flights on a daily basis. Buddha Air operates the myriad number of flights in a day, which is around 150 flights. Similarly, Yeti Airlines operates around 58 flights. Altogether 20 air operator companies including 11 helicopter companies have been conducting domestic flights at present.

Hilly areas in Gandaki, Lumbini, Province No 1, and Bagmati Province will be partially cloudy, while the weather will remain generally fair in the remaining provinces. Kathmandu Valley's maximum temperature was 19 degree Celsius and minimum temper 7.6 degree Celsius.

“Domestic flights could be affected in airports in Terai areas for a few more days due to low visibility,” said TIA Spokesperson Teknath Sitaula

“Flights in the majority of airports in Terai were affected since today morning due to low visibility. Some airports are expected to be inoperative after 12:00 pm, adding that passengers have been facing problems to reach their destination due to this, Buddha Air's Information Officer Dipendra Kumar Karna shared.

“Some places in Terai belt have been experiencing foggy weather today while majority of the places in hilly areas were cloudy,” said  The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology._Rss
