In commemoration of the day when the Nepalese were freed from the autocratic Rana regime and democracy was established, various programs are being held across the country today to celebrate Democracy Day.

With the struggle and sacrifices of the Nepalese, the Rana regime ended on Falgun 7, 2007 and a new era of democracy began. During the establishment of democracy in the country, the promising young people of that time Shukraraj Shastri, Gangalal Shrestha, Dasharath Chand, Dharmabhakta Mathema, and others sacrificed. This day is remembered as the event of liberation from the brutality of autocracy.

Remembering the importance of Democracy Day, the President, the Prime Minister, and the leaders of the main opposition parties have sent greetings to the Nepalese. Also, on the occasion of the historic day, they paid tribute to Amar Shaheed, who sacrificed his precious life in the democratic movement of Nepal.
