Bat cave has been found near Kanchangadhi located in Bardghat Municipality-5 of Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta West) district, which has tourism potential from internal and external perspectives. Bat Cave was found about one and a half kilometers north of the Kanchangadhi area, which is one of the important places among one hundred archeological, historical, religious, and tourist destinations of Nepal.
Kanchan Chhahara located between Kanchangadhi and Bat Caves and Hatti Daha above Bat Caves can be developed by connecting irrigation with small hydropower. There is a possibility to proceed with the construction of cowsheds from planting multi-year fruit trees in the 12-15 bigha area around the Kanchangadhi area to creating a master plan.
There is a possibility that the city as a whole will prosper along with the promotion of tourism if the area is protected and promoted as an archaeological, religious, historical, and touristic place.
According to Rudraprakash Upadhyay, the deputy head of the city, a cost estimate of Rs 140 million was prepared by Bardghat city for the development of the Kanchangadhi area, while the physical construction work is being accelerated at Rs 45.6 million in the first phase for tourism infrastructure after the Bat cave was also found, now the area will be under the larger development area.
“The cave area, which is located at the water's edge with a guard that shows various nature shapes, will be developed as another important place in Kanchangadhi,” said Shambhulal Shrestha, Mayor of Bardghat Municipality.
