A tourist route is going to be constructed in Sauraha, Chitwan. The foundation stone of the model tourist route to be built from Daak in Sauraha to Magartol was laid on Wednesday.
Lohni-Lohni & Sons-Hemant JV Construction Company has been entrusted with the construction of the project. The work of the project should be completed by Jestha 28, 2081 BS.
Sauraha has a budget of around Rs 300 million, under the Nagar Gaurav project, the survey has been completed and the contract process has been moved forward for the construction of the 'signature' bridge connecting Chitrasari to Sauraha at a total cost of Rs 395 million. The goal is to establish Sauraha as an accessible tourist area.
Kiran Chaudhary, Ward President of Ratnanagar-6, said, “The works done in the recent past for the development of Sauraha, from the construction of a dam on the Rapti river to the development of infrastructure, are exemplary.”
Since Ratnanagar spent the most budget in the Sauraha area, he mentioned that tourism professionals here have an equal responsibility to make Sauraha a model tourist destination.
Prahlad Sapkota, Mayor of Ratnanagar Municipality, laid the foundation stone of the road which is under the beautification of Sauraha market through the Nepal Government, Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project.
He said, “The speed of the physical infrastructure of Sauraha, known as the third tourist destination, is the same as it was 30 years ago, so to increase the attraction of internal and external tourists, they are going to build a road 15 metres wide and about 1500 metres long with bicycle lanes, canals, green parks and footpaths.”
He also added, “Since this project is going to be built to increase the beauty of Sauraha and for the long-term benefit of the community, no one should be upset about the permanent/temporary buildings that have to be demolished during construction. I promised to coordinate with the park for the tree cutting process in Simal and the municipality will take necessary initiatives for those who become homeless during road construction.”_RSS
