How do you see your current role in contributing to your organization and hospitality in Nepal?

As the Marketing Manager at Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu Naxal, I am dedicated to contributing to both our organization and Nepal’s hospitality sector. My primary focus is on elevating our hotel’s visibility and reputation to attract more guests and boost revenue.

Additionally, I am entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the visual representation of our offerings and brand reflects the essence of our hospitality. This directly influences the flow of tourists considering accommodations, as compelling brand images can entice guests by showcasing our ability to meet their needs and exceed expectations. My focus remains on nurturing positive relationships with local communities and stakeholders, positioning our hotel as a socially responsible entity contributing to Nepal’s sustainable tourism growth. Ultimately, my role extends beyond marketing to crafting exceptional guest experiences.

What in your opinion needs to be done to help Nepal’s tourism industry flourish?

To drive Nepal’s tourism industry forward, prioritizing infrastructure development is crucial. This involves directing investments towards transportation networks and infrastructure, which would streamline access to remote areas, ensuring visitors can travel around the country without encountering logistical hurdles. Concurrently, initiatives to promote sustainable tourism practices are essential, safeguarding Nepal’s pristine natural landscapes and cultural heritage through responsible waste management, conservation efforts, and community engagement.

In addition to these efforts, addressing urban pollution is imperative. Implementing measures to reduce pollution in Nepal’s cities will contribute to creating a healthier environment for both residents and visitors. Waste management should be given major priority.

Moreover, marketing strategies are essential for amplifying Nepal’s appeal on the global stage. Diversifying tourism offerings beyond traditional trekking and mountaineering to include adventure sports, cultural tours, wellness retreats, and eco-tourism ventures widens the country’s allure to a broader audience. Simultaneously, investing in training and skill development programs for tourism professionals enhances service quality and professionalism, thus enhancing the overall visitor experience.

With these actions, Nepal can significantly enhance its tourism potential. This approach not only drives sustainable economic growth but also preserves the country’s natural and cultural treasures.

What are you passionate about or what keeps you entertained, motivated, refreshed?

I’m passionate about traveling and seeking adventure. There’s something incredibly exhilarating about exploring new places. Alongside that, I find rejuvenation in practicing yoga. It not only enhances my physical flexibility but also brings a sense of calmness to my mind. Connecting with friends from childhood or catching up with them now and then always brings a smile to my face. And when I’m looking for some entertainment, I enjoy indulging in movies and series.

On the culinary front, I have a weakness for Italian cuisine; anything with a lot of cheese works best for me. When it comes to satisfying my sweet tooth, brownies are my ultimate weakness. Additionally, I love adding new earrings to my collection — it’s these little things that add a touch of joy to my day and make me feel good inside and out.

What is the best thing to do in Nepal that you would suggest to a tourist or visitor?

Nepal is renowned for its breathtaking mountain scenery, and trekking offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the region. However, beyond trekking, Nepal boasts a rich tapestry of experiences waiting to be explored.

One of the must-do activities for any visitor to Nepal is to explore the cultural heritage of Kathmandu Valley. Here, ancient temples and monasteries stand as a testament to the country’s rich history and spiritual legacy. Wander through the narrow alleys of Kathmandu’s old city, Bhaktapur, and Patan, where each corner reveals carved wooden structures and hidden courtyards steeped in history.

No visit to Nepal would be complete without sampling its delicious cuisine. From hearty Dal Bhat to Momos, Nepal offers a tantalizing array of flavors to delight the palate.

Whatever their interests may be, visitors to Nepal are sure to be captivated by the country’s rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and awe-inspiring natural beauty. Whether trekking through the Himalayas, exploring ancient temples, or savoring delicious Nepali dishes, Nepal offers an unforgettable journey for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and culinary delights.
