The Everest View Trail Marathon 2024 took place on Baisakh 12 in Mapya Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu. The event received support from the Mira Rai Initiative, Taan, Alpine Excursion Treks & Expedition Pvt.Ltd, and Budhikiran Rai, the chairman of the rural municipality. The program was organized with technical and financial assistance from Mapya Dudh Koshi Rural Municipality and commenced at 7:00 am in the village hall's stadium, Korku.
Various personnel, including health workers, marathon coaches, and aid workers, were deployed at different locations along the route, with tasks distributed among them. The marathon route included checkpoints at Mahavir (C.P 1), Selgudi Danda (C.P 2), Gwaranemera Gumba (C.P 3), Kudam (C.P 4), Yotel Mya Tourism Shelter (C.P 5), and Dilunggari (C.P 6).
One of the most remarkable aspects of the marathon was the diverse range of participants who took part in the event. From seasoned athletes to first-time runners, people of all ages and backgrounds came together to test their limits and embrace the spirit of adventure. National and international participants added a rich tapestry of cultures and perspectives, creating a truly global atmosphere of camaraderie and unity.
Throughout the marathon, a dedicated team of volunteers, including health workers, marathon coaches, and aid workers, stood ready to provide support and assistance to runners. Their unwavering dedication and selflessness were a shining example of the community spirit that permeated the event, ensuring that every participant felt valued and supported on their journey. Runners participating in the marathon were provided with essential amenities such as water, first aid, medication, and fruits at these checkpoints.
Participants of different age groups, both from national and international backgrounds, took part in the marathon.
