Ward chair arrested with marijuana on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

As Nepal and the world celebrate today, June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Ward chair of Nisikhola rural municipality-6 in Baglung, Surya Bahadur Gharti, has been arrested for possessing marijuana.

Acting on a tip-off, police this morning confiscated 86 kilos of contraband from his house, according to District Police Office Baglung's information officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Regmi.

A squad led by Area Police Office, Burtibang's police inspector Prakash Singh Bhandari arrested the local level people's representative. He will be taken to the district headquarters for further investigation into the case, according to the office. It is said lab test of the sample of contraband is also to be conducted.
