Considering the negative impacts of nationwide lockdown in business transactions and other economic activities, Pokhara metropolis has announced a subsidy for taxpayers.

Pokhara metropolis has announced a subsidy for taxpayers stating that the lockdown against the pandemic of COVID-19 has invariably affected economic activity and business transactions.

In its annual budget for the fiscal year 2077/78 BS, the Pokhara metropolis has a waived three-months house rent for its shutters and buildings. Deputy mayor Manju Devi Gurung informed that arrangement has been made in a way to waiver the amount in the first quarter of the upcoming fiscal year 2077/78.

The deputy mayor informed that arrangement has been made to waive house rent tax of lockdown period if the house owners waived house rent during the same. She also shared the subsidy arrangement would be made by developing a concrete standard taking into consideration the COVID-19 effect on businesses of regular taxpayers of the metropolis.
