Isolation wards being extended in Tanahu

Gandaki State internal Affairs Minister Chuman has asked the Chief District Officer of Tanahu to pay attention towards isolation ward in the district and emphasised the need to establish more isolation wards.

Internal Affairs Minister of Gandaki State, Hari Bahadur Chuman, has directed the bodies concerned to find out the place for the expansion of isolation ward in the district.

Minister Chuman after carrying out the onsite visit of GP Koirala Respiratory Treatment Centre at Shuklagandaki municipality and isolation ward of Damauli hospital asked the Chief District Officer of Tanahu to pay attention towards it, saying it is necessary to establish more isolation wards in the district.

Stating that coronavirus infected people have been compelled to stay in quarantine in lack of isolation ward, he stressed that constructing sufficient number of isolation wards was the need of hour.

The Internal Affairs Minister further said that the state government would bear all the expenditure of the construction of the isolation wards. On the occasion, Chief District Officer, Badrinath Adhikari, shared that they have been searching the place in order to expand the isolation wards in the district. Coronavirus has been confirmed on 91 people of nine local levels of the district.

Meanwhile, Vyas municipality is to provide welfare advertisements to media houses operated inside the municipality area. The municipality is going to provide welfare advertisement for the welfare of the media house and media persons as media houses have been affected by COVID-19.

Mayor Baikuntha Neupane opined that the municipality with the collaboration of the Federation of Nepali Journalists has brought different programmes targeting the media persons. The advertisement would be provided after categorizing the media houses. Neupane added that scholarship would be provided to a media person every year for the capacity building of journalists. The municipality has also allocated one million rupees for the promotion of media houses in the budget of coming fiscal year 2020/21.
