Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs' National Federation General Secretary Punya Sitaula (Saroj) issued a press release on Wednesday evening, stating that Federation's attention was drawn to the operation of public vehicles at a time when the nationwide lockdown was still in effect. "Now, it is sheer irresponsibility to carry passengers in public buses. The federation condemns it," he stressed.

Operating public vehicles without adopting adequate safety measure is risky and highly likely to spread coronavirus. So, even the government is requested not to use public buses for transportation, Sitaula added. He further warned that Federation would not be responsible for the COVID-19 risk when passengers are carried arbitrarily in public buses.
