The bridge was put into operation after the completion of the suspension bridge construction under the Tuin displacement program in Mahakali

Two more suspension bridges have been put into operation on the Mahakali River in Darchula to connect Nepal-India. The bridge came into operation after the completion of the construction of a suspension bridge under the Tuin displacement program in Mahakali.

The suspension bridge was inaugurated by the Chief District Officer of Darchula, Gilgraj Upadhyay, and the District Officer of Pithoragarh, India, Reena Joshi on Thursday. After the construction of suspension bridges in Malghat and Malghatte, the need to travel dangerously in Tuin has been removed.

Bharat Pithoragarh District Officer Joshi responded that the problems of the citizens for years have eased after the suspension bridge operation. Nepal-India has strengthened not only the bilateral relationship but also the relationship between bread and butter.

The SSB on the Indian side of the suspension bridge and the district police and armed police on the Nepal side have started providing security. Due to the relationship between the two countries, the security personnel will assist in preventing illegal infiltration of theft and smuggling on both sides. With the construction and operation of the suspension bridge in Mahakali, the need to travel from Tuin has been removed. As the road towards Nepal is not paved, the Indian road is an easy way for the citizens of Beas.

Due to the construction of double-lane roads by India, citizens use Indian roads to transport food and daily necessities.

With the construction of the bridge that has been inaugurated now, 10 suspension bridges connecting Nepal and India over the Mahakali River in Darchula have come into operation.

According to the district administration office, four bridges have been brought into operation in Mahakali in the last two years as part of the government's Tuin displacement campaign. After the year 2073, suspension bridges were constructed in Lekam-3 Lali, Malikarjun Rural Municipality-6 Banku, and Vyas Rural Municipality-6 Badugaon and Tigaram. Earlier, Pulghat in Darchula headquarters Khalanga, Sita Bridge in Byas, Dattu in Mahakali municipality, and Jholunge Bridge in Joljeevi inMalikarjun Rural Municipality are in operation.

A concrete bridge is being constructed across the Mahakali River between Mahakali Municipality-8 Asigada of Darchula and Malla Charchum of Pithoragarh, India, with the aim of facilitating transportation.

“After the suspension bridge connecting Nepal-India came into operation, the movement of citizens of both countries has become easier. This bridge has added a new dimension to the relationship between the two nations,” said the Chief District Officer, Gilgraj Upadhyay._Rss
