Kathmandu, Nepal – Travellers and those picking up or dropping off passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) can now enjoy a longer grace period before parking charges apply.
The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Office has extended the free parking duration for vehicles using its pick-and-drop service from seven minutes to 15 minutes, effective June 5, 2026. The arrangement has been introduced on a one-month trial basis to assess its effectiveness in improving passenger convenience and traffic flow within the airport premises.
According to airport officials, the revised arrangement allows private vehicles, taxis, and other passenger transport services to enter the airport premises, pick up or drop off travellers, and exit within 15 minutes without incurring parking fees. The airport office stated that the move was made after considering the practical needs of passengers and accompanying visitors.
As Nepal's primary international gateway, Tribhuvan International Airport handles millions of passengers annually. The extended grace period is expected to benefit both domestic and international travellers by making airport pick-up and drop-off procedures smoother and more efficient.
