The National Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs has called for immediately opening the roads that have been obstructed due to rain.

Stating on Wednesday evening, Federation Chairperson Yogendranath Karmacharya called for the government to immediately reopen the obstructed highways and roads to take passengers to their destinations without hassles given the festive times.

"Number of passenger-ferrying vehicles would surely increase with the rise in the flow of passengers to and from Kathmandu Valley for festive celebrations. But, it seems the vehicles would face trouble in operating their services with the disruption of the main highway and rural roads outside Kathmandu Valley due to incessant rain", chairperson Karmacharya further said.

Likewise, the Federation's general-secretary Saroj Sitaula said the opening of pre-booking of tickets for Dashain would see big trouble in the lack of smooth two-way road traffic.

The Federation has strongly demanded that the government take immediate initiatives to ensure smooth two-way traffic operations on the highways and roads.
