RASUWA
Langtang National Park is going to conduct special patrols to stop poaching.

Special patrols will be carried out in the park area to prevent poaching during the winter.

According to the park, wild animals have started taking shelter in the forest around the village to avoid the extreme cold above 2,000 meters above sea level and special patrols have been arranged for the smugglers at the same time.

There are about 46 species of mammals in Langtang National Park spread over an area of 1,710 square kilometers in the upper part of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchok districts. According to forest technicians, most of these animals fall into the valley to avoid the cold and return to their original place after the arrival of spring.

According to the park, the Nepal Army Kalijang Battalion is working here for security. Chief Conservation Officer Sushma Rana informed that a joint patrol team of security organs and park technicians is monitoring the forest by setting up dozens of security posts in their base areas of the three districts for the protection of forests, flora, fauna and overall biodiversity of the park area.

There are various animals like bear, bandel, charibagh, snow leopard, wolf, asshole, monkey, musk deer, fox and ratohabre in the park area. Stating that black bears and bundles can leave their native habitat and reach human settlements in search of food throughout the winter, wildlife expert Dr. Mukesh Chalise said it was important to take precautions against possible human attacks from such animals.

The bears, which roamed human settlements in the winter, attacked nine people last fiscal year. In order to reduce such risks, the park office has requested to take the help of a friend when grazing four-legged animals in the forest or working in the field or walking in the morning.

Similarly, there are more than 250 birds in the park. According to the forest technician, even some species of grasses fall towards the valley during the winter season. The park administration has urged all to help in preventing poaching of wildlife as it is the common responsibility of the common man to protect the biodiversity as a whole.
