According to the National Economic Census 2075, economic activity has increased in Nawalpur. There are a total of 12 thousand 745 economic establishments in Nawalpur. It is the second of 11 districts in Gandaki. Kaski has the highest number of 30,745 establishments in the state. There are 12 thousand 433 establishments in the third place. This statistic also shows that Nawalpur is becoming the economic center of Gandaki.

As it is connected to the Indian border area, the number of industries and factories opening here is also increasing. Economic establishments have started concentrating here as there is the ease in the transportation of raw materials. The number of economic establishments opening in Nawalpur has increased rapidly in the last five years since 2070 BS.

Of the total establishments in the district, 7,924 or 62.20 percent were established between 2070 BS and 2075 BS. This has shown an increase in economic activity in the district in recent years. Dasuraj Pokhrel, president of the Nawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the economic activities of the district are increasing as the investment environment is increasing, people are learning skills and doing their own business.

 "If the government creates a more investment-friendly environment and arranges the necessary security, the rate of establishment of economic establishments in the district will accelerate further," he said, adding, "It can significantly contribute to the development and prosperity of the country."

Of the 12,745 financial establishments in Nawalpur, Kawasoti municipality has the highest number of 3,165. Similarly, there are 2,854 economic establishments in Gandakot, 2,054 in Devachuli, 1,622 in Madhyabindu, 1,100 in Binai Triveni, 862 in Hupsekot, 565 in Baudikali and 523 in Bulingtar, said Yagya Murti Bhandari, chief of the Statistics Office, Chitwan.

It is said that 46.70 percent of establishments are registered in the district and 53.30 percent are operating without registration. Chairman of the Nawalpur Industries Association Krishna Prasad Gautam said that the unregistered financial establishments should be brought into the registration process by creating a conducive environment. According to the industry association, Nawalpur has the highest number of 56.60 percent wholesale and retail trade, automobile, motorcycle repair, 13.90 percent housing and food management and 12.10 percent industrial manufacturing establishments. 38 thousand 396 people are employed in these establishments. Of them, 22 thousand 53 are men and 16 thousand 343 are women.

The community forest of the district, the Narayani river, and the lake around the lake have become a center of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Until a few years ago, tourists who used to come to see rhinos, tigers and other wild animals now come to this area to see birds.
