Preparations have been intensified for the Bihukot Religious Festival to be held at Kathekhola Rural Municipality-5, Ramkotdham.
The festival, which was halted last year due to the corona epidemic, is going to be held this time. Bihukot International Society, the main architect of the festival, said that the festival will be organized with the objective of re-opening the Parmanand Sanskrit Gurukul located there.
36 departments have been formed for the management preparation of the festival. Saints and Mahatmas from all over the country will be present in the festival. Cultural programmes including display of local culture, shower from helicopters, viewing of religious places, religious discourses, Vedic worship, bhajan sankirtan, panchebaja competition and other cultural programmes will be held in the festival.
Devotees from Dhawalagiri and surrounding areas will participate in the festival. The money collected from the festival will be spent on the operation of Sanskrit Gurukul. The amount of Rs 6.5 million that has already been collected before the start of the festival has been promised.
As the festival is being organized with the aim of re-running the Gurukul, support from donors and well-wishers in the country and abroad continues. Bihukot is getting more support through the network of international society. It is believed that the resumption of Sanskrit Pathshala will contribute to the preservation of sananat language, culture and education.
It is customary to hold a maha mela along with the rath yatra on Jyeshtha 11 every year in that dham. Similarly, religious rituals are also performed on festivals like Bala chaturdashi and Shivaratri. Ramkotdham is the choice of the devotees as it is worshiped daily through Vedic methods. It can be reached by 20 km road from baglung bazaar, the district headquarters.
“The Gurukul Pathshala of Ramkotdham was closed during the previous armed conflict. The gurukul came into operation during the reign of late Swami Sri 1008 Parmanand Saraswati Maharaj, the founder of Ramkotdham.” According to Society Chair Devi Lal Kandel
“Everyone should join hands in the festival organized for the promotion of religious tourism and the operation of Sanskrit Pathshala,” said Swami Gyanananda Saraswati, Principal Patron of Ramkotdham
“The time has come for all to work hard to save vedic Sanatan dharma and culture. The festival would also be helpful in the promotion of Ramkotdham, which is being developed as a religious destination in recent times. There is also an artistic Tripureshwor Mahadev Temple and the largest Shivalinga of Gandaki State in the Ramkotdham complex.” He added._Rss
