Yeti airlines’ ATR-72 plane crashed in Pokhara
Yeti Airlines’ plane crashed in Pokhara while it was in the process of landing. 9N-ANC, ATR-72 500 aircraft of Yeti Airlines, which flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara at 10:32 in the morning. The flight was carrying 68 passengers (60 Nepalese, and eight foreigners) and 4 crew members including Captain Kamal KC and Anju Khatiwada onboard.
37 of them were male, 25 were female, 3 children and 3 infants of which 53 of them were Nepali, 5 of them were Indian, 4 were Russian, 2 were Korean, 1 Argentinian, 1 Irish, and 1 French.
The plane was in contact with Pokhara International Airport for the last time at 10:50 am at Seti gorge. Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, rescue and firefighting team, and Nepal Police are on the spot of the accident for the rescue mission.
According to the Yeti Airlines, 68 of them have lost their lives till now.
“There were two pilots, two air hostesses and 68 passengers on the plane. The 9N-ANC ATR-72 plane crashed on the banks of Seti River between the old and new airports while landing,” said Yeti Airlines spokesperson, Sudarshan Bertaula.
