One crore two lakh forty four thousand rupees has been collected in the Madhavnarayan Mela held on the Sali river in Kathmandu.
Balkrishna Shrestha, chairman of the Madhavnarayan Swasthani Fasting and Reform Committee, informed that the money was collected as support till Sunday, the last day of the one-month Swasthani (Madhavnarayan Mela) which started from December 22.
Last year, due to coronavirus, the number of devotees was low, so the amount of support was less. Shrestha said that due to the increase in the number of devotees this year, more money was collected due to the collection of rent from shops operating in the vicinity of Sali River.
According to him, the money collected and the money raised from the rent will be spent on the construction of the Madhavanarayan temple. The money offered to the temple will be spent on the staff working in the Madhavanarayan Mela and the management of the temple.
According to the committee, more than 3 million devotees filled the fair this year, which lasted for a month._RSS
