The country recorded a total of 867 new cases of COVID-19 and nine deaths in the past 24 hours. The infection figures were revealed from 8,219 COVID-19 tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday. 

Presently, the number of active infection cases stands at 17,642. Until now, the number of recovery cases is 767,819 with 1,123 in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate is 96.4 percent. 

The death toll from the virus has reached 11,157 with nine deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said. Of the infected ones, 350 have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU) while 112 are on ventilator support. Similarly, 16,371 are in home isolation, 1,271 in institutional isolation, and 239 in quarantine facilities. 

On Saturday, 83,373 people got vaccines against the infection.
