The country recorded a total of 1,078 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. The infection figures were revealed from 11,765 COVID-19 tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday. 

Presently, the number of active infection cases stands at 18,168. The infection rate is 18.9 percent, the Ministry said. 

The Ministry said that nine districts have more than 500 active cases each while 19 districts have 200 plus active cases of COVID-19.

Until now, the number of recovery cases is 765,758 with 911 in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate is 96.3 percent. The death toll from the virus has reached 11,135 with 12 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry said. 

Of the infected ones, 353 have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU) while 117 are on ventilator support. Similarly, 16,802 are in home isolation, 1,366 in institutional isolation, and 238 in quarantine facilities. 

On Thursday, 289,381 people got vaccination against the infection. So far, 6,285,740 have been administered with COVID-19 vaccines while 7,456,384 have received the first dose.
